A bit of backstory behind these wedding smiles.
Temple recommends, or cards that represent a meeting with leadership where you proclaim adherence to standards/being able to enter the temple, last for two years. My most recent recommend expired June 30th. We had a wedding to attend on July 2 in the Salt Lake City temple. I didn't realize this would be a problem, of course, until late the night before as I was texting Landon's mom about what colors to have the girls wear.
Thankfully we somehow have the sweetest leadership. I ended up calling one of their houses Thursday morning, the wife answered, who said she'd call her husband, who called me back, who called his counselor, who called me, who said he could meet me at the church building in five minutes to sign my card, I'd just have to excuse the stench of sweat as he had just biked for 20 miles.
Seriously made my day.
The wedding was for Landon's cousin, Kayden and his fiancé Ashlee, who Landon had the chance of photographing engagements for earlier this Spring. [here + here] We got to be there for the sealing in the temple, thanks to another sweet cousin who stayed downstairs with the girls.
I cried mid sealing, and then again during the luncheon as Kayden shared a few sweet words about his now wife. Love gets me every time. That's a country song, huh? It's stuck in your head now too, huh?
Thursdays are my favorite day of the week, and this one was no different. A full day with Landon, the girls, his parents and siblings and extended family? Seriously the best.
