A Little Nursery Update [Hooray!]

A reminder of the nursery before IKEA:

And here it is now, about 95% complete! Thanks to a Lack shelf, Expedit tipped on its side + Capita legs [4", making it the absolute perfect height], a Poang chair in Granan White + birch frame and the Gislev rug!
also a little woven clothes hamper from Orchard Supply and the Babyletto Hudson crib!

Ok baby you can come now!

 Forget Disneyland. IKEA is the happiest place on earth.

Christmas Weekend [With the Faulkners]

Twas such a Merry Christmas!
We spent the Christmas weekend up with Landon's family
three sleepovers all together to be exact.
 cinnamon rolls,  hand carved ornaments, a surprise sleeping bag, la mer watches, dance parties til late
les miserables, a beautiful combined third hour at church, presents, stockings, an attempted post christmas dinner leftovers walk, a madeline/strawberry shortcake hat, the best wrapped presents ever thanks to reagan

Oh, I needed this.

Week 34: Our Butternut Squash :]

For the past 2 weeks or so I have been more than a bit melancholy about being pregnant and even about having a baby. I have no idea where these pre-baby blues came from. They weren't constant but they were consistent. Two sad teary Sundays for no reason, a few gloomy mornings, feeling myself get less and less enthusiastic about answering the customers' same 6 questions about life over and over again {yeah, end of next month, our first, a girl, for sure we're excited, no still deciding between a few} ...

These two weeks also coincidentally happened to be the same two weeks that my blog was down and that I gained 5 pounds [kill me now]. With a temporary new blog template in place and back to tracking each week I'm feeling better already and much more ok with sharing my body with this little one for 6 more weeks.

With real Christmas presents under the tree this morning, a surprise visit from Ave & Trever this morning, plans to all hang out tonight and Christmas in just three days I'm excited to take each week at a time and try to enjoy them all

Goals For 2013 {and beyond}

A few weeks ago I got the chance to blog and think over 100 goals that I had as a junior in High School. {see post by clicking, here} Looking through them, though most are things I'd still love to do, everything that's left to be accomplished is a little simple or silly. I wanted to put together a more focused list of goals for my life right now, the near future and also the distant future.

I tend to have a billion fitness goals, those come easiest to me and make me the happiest to think about. I feel like pregnancy has helped me find a balance in life of mental + spiritual + psychical things/goals. It's also safe to say that I'd love to travel to all of the places that I put down for goals five years ago. But as far as what gets me excited/priorities traveling feels so far down my list. #thisisrightwhereineedtobe

My goals for 2013 and beyond---

See a dermatologist, have any and all moles/spot checked out Commit to never fake bake again/wear sunscreen at the beach Try out Spray Tans and learn to love it Study yoga this summer in SLC, becoming a certified yoga instructor Find a jogging stroller and work with Landon to add running into our newly busy life with P Run the Lululemon half marathon August 10 or other half marathon if not feasible whatsoever Move to random city across America for Landon where he'll start law school and we'll be beyond excited for him on his first day of class, and most days after hopefully Be patient and supportive on days that L has to study late or doesn't have time to play. Begin classes on campus, or online if not at alllll possible Visit Alaska together for Christmas Read copious amounts of books, classic novels + nonfiction Turn off the computer more Buy an iMac desktop for school. Smile, knowing that those two don't even have to contradict each other. Strengthen relationship with God read Study the scriptures regularly, remember that there's a difference Buy a puppy. Name him Oliver. or Madeline for a girl. scratch that. you can't name a puppy madeline. I keep trying to make Madeline work. It's only cute for a french girl with a yellow hat in a book. Come to terms that I can't name anything Madeline.

{and beyond}

Earn my BA degree by the time he earns his Law Degree {3 years} Buy a lovely second hand piano for our apartment if we think we'll stick around for a few years. If not, buy a keyboard and pretend it's the same thing Continue with school after earning BA degree, earning a few minors including religion and/or Spanish for the pure enjoyment of learning Consider dental hygiene again. Jump in with both feet if I'm feeling it, studying my little heart out Move to Park City with three little ones, a puppy and of course Landon. Potentially consider other nearby areas once we see the price tags of homes Go skiing as a family. Conquer the art of skiing, and of making mint hot chocolate. Snowshoe and hike and run and bike and and paint and have little private concerts together as a family. Use the money we saved by not buying the most expensive home in Park City to buy a Range Rover and Jeep Wrangler. :]

Week 33, My little Durian & Mountain Man

I'm beyond ready to have her little fingers wrapped around one of mine and to hold that little bundle
 I'm also beyond ready to be done being pregnant for a little while.
I've gotta be honest though. 95% of this week however hasn't had this impatient attitude. The other 95% I've barely even felt pregnant, forgetting I even had an 8 month baby bump til I glanced down.

The past week or so some baby gear has arrived in the mail thanks to some birthday money, sweet parents and a surprise box from Grandma! [grandma if you see this before I email you, I'm sorry. I'm terrible.] I unboxed everything excitedly then put it all under our tree. We still have a ways to go with picking up things to be ready for her arrival but luckily have more than enough time to keep getting ready. Except for the dang car seat, hopefully she doesn't come early otherwise we'll be held hostage at the hospital til we have it...

Landon got to be surrounded by snow for a full day this week as they hiked brokeoff mountain and I am in full jealous mode. But can also appreciate the pictures he took as I had a cozy day with the heat set to 70, windows closed pretending it was snowy outside here too...
